During this comprehensive seven week pre-recorded online workshop students will learn how to hand-paint their own collage papers through a series of gel plate mono-printing techniques in the color palette inspired by their own bouquet. After creating a ‘paper palette’ students will learn various techniques for tearing and applying the paper in a ‘painterly’ manner. Emphasis will be on defining form using light and shadow, and treating every torn tidbit of paper as a brush stroke.
This online workshop will publish one pre-recorded lesson per week, for seven weeks. You may view (and review) the lessons at your own pace and on hour own schedule, all the videos will be available to you for 12 months. I will be commenting on all uploaded samples of work as well as questions in the classroom throughout the duration of the course, May 10th through June 21st
At the end of this seven week course, you will have the skills and confidence to create an impressionistic, painterly collage–your very own Paper Painting!
