This 12 day trip of a lifetime will include a few days in the colourful, ever friendly chaos that is Kathmandu, several days of painting in gorgeous Pokhara at the foot of the mighty Annapurna range of the Himalayas, creating an extraordinary original collage scroll painting & sightseeing some of the most beautiful places on earth.
Create a Mixed Media Nepalese-Inspired Goddess Portrait
Join me for a colorful and soulful mixed media workshop inspired by the sacred art of Paubha painting—the devotional imagery created by the Newar people of Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley. Closely related to the Tibetan Thangka, these intricate works celebrate Hindu and Buddhist deities with exquisite detail, symbolism, and grace.
We’ll take inspiration from the Kumari—the living goddess of Nepal—as we build our own layered goddess portraits using painted papers, textured collage, and expressive acrylic techniques. You’ll learn how to merge ancient tradition with contemporary creativity, creating a one-of-a-kind work that radiates both beauty and spirit.
Open to all levels—no experience required! Come explore culture, color, and creativity in this inspiring art adventure.

Kathmandu: A Tapestry of Culture and Art
Your journey begins in Kathmandu, where ancient traditions meet the hum of modern life. Wander through lively markets, visit the Monkey Temple, and explore the historic cities of Patan and Bhaktapur, each a treasure of art and architecture with exquisite carvings and centuries-old temples.
At Bodhisattvas in Action (BIA), you’ll witness inspiring works by artists with disabilities and take part in a short Thangka painting workshop led by a local artist. This creative exchange offers a meaningful connection with Nepal’s artistic community. Pokhara: Nature’s Canvas
Pokhara: Nature’s Canvas
A short, breathtaking flight along the Himalayas brings you to Pokhara, a tranquil haven beside Phewa Lake. Our studio overlooks the sacred Machapuchare Mountain, offering endless inspiration as its reflection dances across the water.
Days here blend creativity, reflection, and gentle adventure. Join an optional 10-kilometer trek through the Annapurna region, visit the Shanti Stupa and Lord Shiva Temple, and capture the landscape in sketches and mixed media. We’ll explore collage, paint, and mark-making on gorgeous Nepalese handmade paper in our balcony studio.
A serene boat trip to Barahi Temple on Phewa Lake invites quiet contemplation, followed by evenings sampling Pokhara’s delicious mix of local and international cuisine.
Wherever we go, you’ll be met with the warmth of the Nepali people, open hearts, bright smiles, and an invitation to dance, laugh, and share in their joy.
