How Now, Blue Cow?/ 24x18
This mixed media collage was created entirely from hand-painted papers, built layer by layer with professional-grade acrylics to create depth, texture, and a vibrant sense of movement. The expressive eyes are the heart of the piece, inviting a quiet moment of connection between viewer and subject.
Dairy cows have long inspired me, rooted in my New England upbringing and a lifelong affection for their gentle presence and distinct personalities. In this work, I aimed to capture not just a likeness, but a feeling—familiar, warm, and quietly joyful. Featured in a recent exhibition at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center, this piece reflects my ongoing exploration of storytelling through texture, color, and expressive mark-making.
Created on a 2-inch deep gallery-edged cradled panel with finished edges, this piece is wired and ready to hang
