Small Roll Medical Exam Paper for Transparent Overlays
A Space-Saving Solution for Gel Printing and Mixed Media Collage
In this week's video, Barb from Joggles and I are exploring the creative possibilities of medical exam paper for transparent collage overlays. If you've used exam paper before, you'll appreciate what's different about this version—a smaller headrest-sized roll that's much easier to manage in the studio.
The compact roll fits comfortably on your gel plate, takes up less storage space, and is ideal for artists working in smaller studios. One of my favorite features is that you can continue printing on a continuous sheet, creating a long series of prints that stay together on the roll. This makes both printing and storage faster, easier, and more efficient.
We'll also demonstrate how beautifully medical exam paper tears, layers, and glues over mixed media backgrounds. Its transparency allows underlying colors and patterns to show through while adding subtle texture and visual interest to your collage work.
Join us as we explore this versatile material and discover why medical exam paper has become one of my favorite surfaces for creating transparent collage layers.
